Established in 2011 through the dedicated efforts of over 50 volunteers from diverse backgrounds, the Path of Life transformed a previously underutilized area into a vibrant space for recreation and cultural activities. The initiative was spearheaded by the Network of Word and Action (Diktyo Logou kai Praxis), aiming to foster community engagement and environmental appreciation.

The Nestos Delta, located near its mouth, is recognized as one of Europe’s most significant wetlands. This area supports a rich tapestry of life, including numerous bird species, making it a prime location for birdwatching and ecological studies.
